John Amodeo NN6JA Originally from Long Island, John has been licensed for 40 years, starting as a Tech Plus in the early 1970's and upgrading to a General in the late 1970's. He moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980's where he became KA6MVE. He upgraded to Extra In the summer of 2011 and changed his call to NN6JA.John has worked in the entertainment industry as an editor, director and producer for the past 30 years. He is currently the producer of ABC Television's Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen. He has produced other familiar shows like Sports Night, Titus, Arrested Development, Samantha Who? and many more. He has written numerous articles about television and Radio technology and during the 2012 Dayton Hamvention he presented his forum entitled Ham Radio and Hollywood. Last Man Standing features a fictions ham radio station KA0XTT for Tim Allens character, Mike Baxter. Although Mikes license is fictitious, the radio station is a real, working radio station. The show has held numerous radio events live from the Last Man Standing stage and hosted many ham radio special events and has had guest visit the set like, Ray Novak from Icom, Dennis Motschenbacher from Yaesu, ARRL Southwestern Division Director, Richard Norton and ARRL Southwestern Division Vice-Director Marty Woll. Last Man Standing airs on Friday nights at 8:00 pm on ABC.
