Bob Inderbitzen NQ1R is Sales and Marketing Manager of the American Radio Relay League

Bob Inderbitzen NQ1R is Sales and Marketing Manager of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the national association for Amateur Radio. He is responsible for ARRL membership and publication marketing. Inderbitzen regularly attends ARRL’s national conventions and Dayton Hamvention as part of the team that organizes and operates ARRL exhibits. He enjoys speaking with volunteers about ARRL membership recruitment, benefits and services. Bob earned his first ham radio license in 1981 as KA2PZD. He was in the sixth grade. He became NQ1R when he upgraded to Amateur Extra in 1989. His interests in ham radio include casual HF operating, portable operating and contesting. He is an ARRL Life Member. Bob joined the ARRL staff in 1991, serving the Volunteer Examiner Coordinator Department as Assistant to the Manager. In 1993, he became Assistant to the Manager in the Educational Activities Department. There, he helped maintain the large array of services offered to Amateur Radio newcomers, instructors, schoolteachers and recruiters. He is a member of ARRL’s “10-Year Club” for employees with at least 10 years of service. He attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts, and holds a B.S. degree in Management and Organization from Central Connecticut State University. Bob lives in Rocky Hill, Connecticut with his husband Michael Bower and daughter Victoria. He and his family are active in church affairs and enjoy vacations to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
