John Hays K7VE talks about D-STAR

John Hayes K7VE helped start the Oquirrh Lake Radio Club www.k7olr.org. He was also a founder of the New England Packet Radio Association, Northwest Amateur Packet Radio Association, and Utah Packet Radio Association. He has served as an officer of several amateur societies, including: Amateur Television of North America, Utah Amateur Radio Club, Sky Valley Amateur Radio Club, Kootenai Amateur Radio Club, and others. Currently, John spends most of his amateur radio time in pursuits related to D-STAR and you will find many of my thoughts on the subject in various Internet forums as well as my personal blog at www.k7ve.org John is also interested in VOIP Telephony among other hobbies and interests. John was first licensed in 1973 as WN7WHV alt. WN7AJD, later as WB7VJK and KD7UW before receiving the K7VE callsign (he is an ARRL VE) after having obtained his Extra class. (Also was a VK3 for a bit -- having been there on business). John formerly was the operator of AF MARS station AFB1GP and even earlier was in Navy MARS. Mrs John Hays is KC7PAA. John's sons are KC7GPT, KC7OSO, KD7PRM, and KD7PRNJohns daughter in law is KE6MPP!
